Haryana DGP announced that family members of police personnel, who lost their lives fighting anti-social elements, will receive special ex-gratia grants.
“The nation will always be grateful to the jawans, who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. This year too, two brave police personnel of the state have sacrificed their lives while discharging duties,” said the Director General of Police, B S Sandhu at a gathering organized to pay tribute to such personnel on ‘Police Commemoration Day’. The ggathering was on the grounds of Police Lines Panchkula.
Homage was paid to almost 414 martyrs from Central Armed Forces and police regiments. He added that the sacrifices and actions of these heroes to maintain unity, integrity, law and order of the nation can never be forgotten.
The Manohar Lal Khattar- government has come up with welfare schemes for these kinds of families where they are getting ex-gratia grants of 30 lakhs. Financial assistance of Rs 15 lakh has been already issues to terminally injured personnel: Rs 10 lakh for major injury and Rs 5 lakh for minor injury.
A special Anti-Terrorist Force ‘Kavach’ will soon be set up where 150 police commandos will be trained by National Security Council to deal with special situations.
