An audio message on WhatsApp is going viral that says there is no need to send relief material to Kerala as the people there are rich and they would accept offerings.
The audio clip goes on to say that the people of Kerala, particularly from Kottayam district are rich and would not accept Rs 2 kg rice from Telangana.
The message has divided people as some say that it has made the relief operations too simplistic and is sending a wrong message. Many who want to help may refrain. Fake audio on WhatsApp not to send relief material to Kerala sends wrong signals.
