Ishita Jain is the school topper at Tagore International school with a percentage of 97.2 (best of four is 98%)
An avid dancer, painter and badminton player, Ishita attributes her success in the CBSE class 12 examinations to hard work and determination. However, it was not all work and no play for her, she balanced her time between both. She never lost sight of her goal and constantly motivated herself. “It’s now or never” was her motto.
A large part of her success she puts down to written practice. She believes that without constant practice one cannot achieve anything. She took all her school exams very seriously in order to maintain consistency. It was solving sample papers that helped her to score a100 in Economics.
HimanshuSood is the school Science topper with a percentage of 97. (best of four is 98%)
An ever-smiling boy with a never say die spirit, Himanshu believes that ‘Dreams and Dedication make a powerful combination’. An all-rounder in a true sense, he balanced his academics with co-curricular activities very well. A keen debater, the speaker in interschool MUN competitions, he was the president of the Pyrotech club of the Tagore International school. His key to success is his proactive approach in all spheres, highly advanced problem-solving skills towards life helping him to prioritize his goals and his tireless effort to achieve his goal. He never missed out any classes in school and coaching, balancing them efficiently.
He believes his academic results are a direct outcome of utilizing time spent in class properly. According to him, concepts are best cemented in the brain when one devotes a few minutes at home understanding what was taught in class immediately afterward goes a much longer way than slogging a few days prior to the exam.
With each passing second, on the morning of Saturday, May 26, every CBSE XIIth grade student waited with bated breath; the suspense too difficult to overcome. The XIIth Board results were to be announced any hour!
Just as the clock was about to strike 12 midday, I clicked on my roll no…and there it was! 96.25, I read. For a few seconds, I felt choked, my breathing stuck midway. I was ecstatic! Later on, it was revealed that I had topped my Commerce class of 2017-18. I knew I had done well in my Board exams, but this was unexpected.
It was a collective effort that had borne fruit. This wouldn’t have been possible without the relentless support and push from my teachers. At every point throughout grades 11 and 12, I wasn’t allowed to step back; my teachers stood as pillars, guiding and motivating me and the rest of my classmates. By consistently working hard, day in and day out, our teachers ensured that each one of us delivered the optimum. I cannot thank them enough; they deserve enormous appreciation. I want to express my sincere gratitude to my parents. My family encouraged me at every step and instilled optimism and confidence.
I think it is imperative to maintain a balance in life. One doesn’t have to give away friends, hobbies, and interests during preparation time. Regularity in studies and practicing sample papers guarantee success. My school, Tagore International School, VasantVihar, was the ideal nurturing ground for us, providing students with innumerable opportunities. I availed every such opportunity. I heartily participated in MUNs, Business quiz competitions, sports, debates and as the Ekta House Prefect, was part of diverse House activities. Even during the Board preparations, I continued with my childhood passion for playing tennis to keep myself fit and energized. The positive environment among my peer group and friends rejuvenated me, which facilitated effective concentration.
I believe one should put in his or her 100 percent, in whatever one does. Also, it is very important to believe in oneself; one’s capabilities. I wish my all my juniors in grade XI and XII all the very best in their future endeavors. Start preparing from now and be confident and positive.
