India Australia Business & Community Awards (IIABCA) has honoured Ravneet Pawha as the Business Leader of Professional of the year 2018. She represents Australian higher education at several platforms and acts as a member of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry. She is also a member of the Confederation of Indian Industry Sports Council.
In the presence of Australia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Marise Payne, Indian High Commissioner in Australia, Dr Ajay Gondane and many eminent Indian business and community leaders, the Australian government gave the award.
She stated that “This award recognises Deakin’s efforts in India towards education for jobs of the future and initiatives for the communities we serve.”
She also added after receiving the award that “It is indeed an honour to be felicitated on such a big platform. The award belongs to the highly-committed Deakin India team in New Delhi. We endeavour to continue our mission with passion, persistence and people to people connect.”
A strong bond has been created between Australian higher education and innovative Indian minds through this strategic partnership.
Her key role was acting as the head of the strategic project, the Deakin India Research Initiative (DIRI) that is trying to bridge the gap between academics and industry.
