After two years of full and partial closure for COVID, this is the first time that CHIREC International School, one of the most admired K-12 schools in Hyderabad, has been able to meet physically to celebrate its Founder’s Day on 20th September 2022.
Founder’s Day 2022 honoured Ms. Ratna Reddy, a visionary educationist who pioneered new age education in Hyderabad, and her immense contribution to the growth and development of CHIREC.
On this occasion, the school celebrated another significant achievement, awarding a total of 245 gold medals and trophies to students who achieved path-breaking results in the 2022 final examinations across the CBSE, Cambridge and IB Boards. Despite the challenges of remote learning, many of CHIREC’s students emerge as toppers in the first physical examinations for two whole years.
Mr. Anthony Millward, Senior Cognita Group Executive, the Principals, & the Senior Vice-Principals awarded 66 subject toppers from IBDP & 38 subject toppers from CBSE Grade 12. 122 students from IGCSE & CBSE Grade 10 bagged trophies for their exemplary performance. 2/3rd of CHIREC’s IGCSE students routinely score A* & A and 50% of their CBSE students routinely score 90% and above.
Dr. Peter McLaughlin, Head of Cognita’s India operations said: “I am immensely proud of the CHIREC students, teachers and parents who went to such heroic lengths to ensure that after two years of school closures and entire courses taught and assessed online, our girls and boys were still able to produce so many toppers in their final physical board examinations. Global education systems now know how challenging it is to teach effectively online for very long periods of time, but our teachers and students defied the statistical odds with extraordinary success. The key to their success was the strong academic foundations of the school that were laid down by our founder, Ms. Ratna Reddy, over a period of three decades. It was those foundations that enabled the school to survive this century’s greatest peacetime disruption, and that achievement is what we are celebrating together today.”
