Almost 70,000 booklets will be printed by the school education board and distributed to each government school and schools with state board curriculum for the academic session 2023-24. Additional copies will also be printed to distribute among students for reference detailing of the changes made. The board has decided to distribute the booklets to schools in 10 – 15 days. The changes have been recommended in Kannada and Social Science textbooks from classes 6 – 10.

The booklet has changes introduced by the Congress government after dropping the “controversial” sections introduced by the BJP government in 2022. Almost 18 changes have been made from the 45 recommendations made by the textbook revision committee. The committee comprised of Prof Rajappa Dalawai, Ravi Kumar, Prof TR Chandrashekar, Dr Ashwathnarayan and Rajesh as its members. The government has dropped chapters on the RSS founder, KB Hedgewar; and on Chakaravarthy Sulibele and Shatavadhani Ganesh from class 10 Kannada language textbook.
