On January 26th, 2024, India painted the air with the vibrant hues of patriotism as it commemorated its 75th Republic Day. This year’s celebrations held extra significance, marking a diamond jubilee of the day the Constitution of India came into effect, officially declaring the country a republic. The air thrummed with excitement, national pride, and a renewed sense of commitment to the ideals enshrined in the Constitution.
As India commemorated its 75th Republic Day, the message resonating across the nation was one of unity and hope. Despite its diverse cultures and languages, India stands united as one nation, committed to its democratic ideals and aspirations for a brighter future. The celebrations served as a reminder of the country’s remarkable journey and its immense potential to achieve even greater heights in the years to come.
75th Republic day celebrations held at Greenwood High School with great fanfare. Students of all classes, from Nursery to Class X, have turned up to the program in immaculate white uniform and gathered at the assembly in time. Principal Manjula Devi, Vice Principal, ACOs and faculty were in attendance for the program. NCC Cadets marched in perfect synchrony and received the directors Challa Dharma Reddy garu and Dr. Bharadwaja Naidu garu and led them to the venue. After paying obeisance to the national leaders who fought for our freedom and Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, the man instrumental in drafting the constitution, national flag was hoisted for loud cheering and it was followed by national anthem with great reverence.
Leading up to the special day in the annals Indian history, school has conducted various competitions like essay writing, elocution, drawing on themes related – India’s recent achievements, rich cultural heritage. Directors awarded medals and prizes for the winners. It was followed by cultural activities, including singing and dance performances.
After the cultural programs, directors addressed the students and parents gathered for the special occasion. Both the directors extended republic day greetings to the students and emphasized how constitution is a binding force and guiding light for the prosperity our country. They requested the students to be vigilant and safeguard the constitution.
