Adamas University to Grant COVID-19 & Amphan Scholarships

Prof Samit Ray, Chancellor, Adamas University, has announced scholarships worth 2 crores for 500+ eligible candidates as an aid to pursue higher education in the Eastern and North-Eastern regions of India.

Keeping in consideration the unfathomable economic crises stemming from pandemic and cyclone Amphan, the scholarship grant will benefit students already struggling with on-going financial troubles. Families that have lost jobs or properties to the recent cyclone that ravaged Bengal and Odisha can apply for the scholarship.

The nine schools of various disciplines with 117 undergraduate and postgraduate programs will be allocated the scholarship money. Furthermore, candidates will be assessed according to their performance in the online tests scheduled on 30th May, 13th June and 20th June. Each candidate will be allowed two chances for securing the scholarship.

“This is the least we could do to support the young learners this time, and I hope every corporate house and university or college shall come out with their own support measures this time,” noted Chancellor Prof Samit Ray.

The University has 117 UG and PG courses that cover a broad range of subjects—management, engineering, liberal arts, media, sciences, law, pharmacy, biotech and education.

From the 2000 students who seek admission in the university annually, several hundred can benefit from the scholarship this year.
