Q. What is the school’s history and vision of education?
Rooted in the timeless teachings of Swami Dayanand Ji Saraswati, BCM Arya Model Sr. Sec. School, operating under the aegis of Arya Samaj, Model Town Ludhiana, was established in 1977 with a vision to promote educational excellence at all levels, preparing students to meet future global challenges with confidence and capability. We are dedicated to fostering a culture of holistic growth and intellectual rigour, turning our vision into reality by nurturing excellence across all domains. We create a safe, welcoming, and stimulating environment where students excel academically, socially, and emotionally. By promoting inclusivity and collaboration through community partnerships, we ensure equity and equal opportunities for all. We equip students with 21st-century skills, encouraging intellectual curiosity, creativity, innovation, and purposeful entrepreneurship, with a strong emphasis on sustainability.
We prioritize well-being by nurturing physical fitness, mental resilience, self-esteem, empathy, and a commitment to community service. Alongside preparing students for the future, we instil in them a deep respect for India’s cultural heritage and a global vision for peace, harmony, and economic development. Through this unwavering commitment, we inspire and shape future leaders who are academically proficient, morally grounded, and poised to make a lasting, positive impact on the world.
Q. The health of students is crucial, both mentally and physically. Can you explain the school’s Health Program?
We believe that a student’s well-being is the foundation of success, both academically and personally. Our comprehensive Health Program addresses both physical and mental health, promoting balanced nutrition through monthly sample menus and instilling essential hygiene practices like regular handwashing. Routine health check-ups, including dental and vision screenings, are conducted to ensure early intervention.
Mental well-being is equally prioritized through our ‘Manodarpan’ Student Support Group, which offers personalized counselling, and ‘Ek Prayas’, our Inclusion & Equity program, ensuring every student has equal opportunities to succeed. With four dedicated counsellors, we provide academic, behavioural, and emotional support, including care for those in mental distress. Our counselling support transcends the boundaries of student care, extending to parents, families, and stakeholders. We provide personalized one-on-one counselling sessions and host insightful guest lectures by mental health experts, ensuring that the entire school community is well-supported and informed. To ensure a safe environment, anti-bullying boxes are placed campus-wide for swift action. We also observe Nutrition and Mental Health Weeks to foster healthy living and emotional resilience through life skills sessions.
Q. What is your opinion on life skills education, and what programs are in your school?
Nurturing young minds with essential life skills is our commitment to shaping a brighter, more compassionate future. At BCM Arya, we integrate practical programs such as “Nutrition for Life,” innovative communication workshops, and “Ek Sankalp” (Pupil Tutoring), which foster leadership, teamwork, and personal growth. Our “PPP” (Paving Path to Progress) initiative provides real-world exposure, while the “Money Smart School” program enhances financial literacy. We are passionate about instilling an entrepreneurial spirit in our students through hands-on projects and initiatives that encourage innovative thinking and problem-solving.
We demonstrate our dedication to philanthropy through charitable activities, including raising Rs. 2.5 lakhs with the student-run “Anwesha” exhibition and making significant donations. Our collaboration with Aashirwad (NICPA) through the Community Outreach Program “Sahyog” offers special children enriching courses in financial literacy, media, food production, and wellness, culminating in certification. Furthermore, our vibrant Student Councils across all wings play a pivotal role in cultivating leadership and responsibility. The Student Exchange Program further enriches our students’ educational experience by fostering global perspectives and cultural understanding. Together, these efforts prepare our students to become compassionate leaders, innovative thinkers, and entrepreneurial trailblazers of tomorrow.
Q. What is the importance of Mental Health in education? Can you highlight the programs at the school specifically related to Mental Health?
At BCM Arya, mental health is a cornerstone of our educational ethos, championed through innovative and impactful initiatives. Our flagship programs, Manodarpan and SEWA (Social Empowerment through Work in Art), are pivotal in promoting mental well-being. During our dedicated Mental Health Week, students engage in dynamic activities such as intercom speeches, interactive creative display boards, and personalized counselling sessions. These efforts are designed to raise awareness, diminish stigma, and empower students to value mental health as much as academic success.
With counsellors strategically placed in every school wing, BCM Arya ensures that every student receives tailored support. Our ‘Grievance Redressal Committee’ ensures that any concerns, whether academic or personal, are addressed promptly and effectively, maintaining a supportive environment for all. Additionally, our proactive approach includes key committees such as the ‘POCSO and Anti-Bullying’ and ‘Safety and Security’ committees, which uphold student welfare. Recognizing the increasing prevalence of cyber-related issues, our ‘Cyber Ambassador Club’ provides essential education and support on cyber safety, empowering students to navigate the digital world securely and responsibly. By addressing mental health head-on and fostering a culture of empathy and resilience, we prepare our students to face life’s challenges with confidence and understanding.

Career counselling is essential in empowering students to discover their passions and make informed career choices. At BCM Arya, we have a dedicated Career Guidance Cell that offers personalized support, helping students navigate diverse career paths. Our programs like SPARK and the Department of Skill Education (DSE) equip students with practical skills in research, design, and vocational training, bridging the gap between academics and the professional world.
Our commitment extends beyond the classroom with industry visits and internships, offering students invaluable real-world experience and insights into their chosen fields. We also host an Annual Career Fair, bringing together prestigious universities and colleges from India and abroad to provide students with first-hand knowledge of future opportunities. To further broaden their horizons, we organize an International Guest Lecture Series, featuring renowned experts who share their expertise and experiences, inspiring students to think globally. Through these comprehensive initiatives, we ensure our students are not only well-prepared but also empowered to navigate the ever-evolving job market with confidence and clarity. This holistic approach helps them align their talents with career demands, setting them on a path to both personal fulfilment and professional success.
