Regarding the reopening, there have been wide backlashes from parents, student associations, political parties, and the State Commission for Protection of Children (SCPC). As the heatwave situation intensifies in Andhra Pradesh, the decision to reopen schools have been quite shocking. Nara Lokesh, the general secretary of the TDP party has commented that the early opening of schools amidst the extreme weather condition in Andhra Pradesh might lead to heat strokes among students. He has also asked the government to reconsider opening of schools after the third week of June. Students will get mid-day meals and ragi malt during half-day school. The government is taking steps to introduce Byju’s content in Intermediate schools. As of now, the government is critically observing the weather conditions and will soon take a decision if the summer vacation is to be extended.
