Anjali Shrivastava, a student of class 3 has won the title in age category of U-9, in the U-11 state open championship.
The state open championship, happening in Bhopal, is witnessing school children, of various age categories battling hard to win the title. Anjali Shrivastava has won the title in the U-9 age category.
Parents of Anjali Srivastava said that their daughter has been playing chess for the past few years. She grasped the game rapidly and was eager to participate in every event. Her parents are glad that she is getting better in the game day-by-day.
About 100 players, involving 32 girls and 62 boys, participated in the championship. After 6 rounds, Anshika Dongre and Praavi Singh Tomar stood 1st and 2nd respectively in the U-11 state open championship. In addition to this, Adwitya Roy came 3rd in the same category.
In the U-11 state open championship for boys, Rishabh Kumar stood 1st after 7 rounds. Moreover, 2nd and 3rd positions went to Atharv Palta and Divit Gangwal.
Ravi Shrivastava, tournament organiser stated that children of primary school participated in huge numbersto play chess. He said the youth of Madhya Pradesh has been working hard to playthe gamewell.Shrivastava also added that children,as young as 5 years, are also participating in the championship.Equally, the parents are also helping their children in playing chess from an early age.
