The Andhra Pradesh Board of Intermediate Education (BIEAP) is all set to conduct the upcoming AP Class 10 and Intermediate exams 2021, but the students of the state are constantly pushing the government to postpone or cancel the exams.
Students who are set to appear for the AP board exams 2021 have been citing health concerns as one of the top reasons why the exams should be postponed or cancelled. As of now, the board exams are set to be conducted in offline mode for all the students.
The Andhra Pradesh board had recently announced that the Inter exams will be conducted as per the official schedule, which urged students and opposition parties to push for its deferment due to the current Covid-19 surge in the state.
Apart from students and parents, opposition parties like TDP, BJP, Jana Sena, and Congress have urged the government to cancel the Class 10 exam and postpone the Inter exams for the safety of the candidates amid the current Covid-19 crisis.
Students sign petition to postpone exams
Many students from Andhra Pradesh have signed a petition on change.org, urging the government to postpone the upcoming board exams in the state due to the rise in Covid-19 cases. The petition has suggested the cancellation of all the exams to be conducted next month due to the situation.
The petitioner wrote, “I request to cancel all the examinations to be held in next month. It is very difficult to attend the exams by hearing the online classes. If students attend the exams, by chance if they get covid positive the situation of the cases will be worse than now and our students will be at risk and their families too.”
Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh Education Minister Adimulapu Suresh has said that the government will make all the necessary arrangements for the safe conduction of the upcoming AP board exams 2021. He also stated that no state government has cancelled the Class 12 exams.
