According to Andhra Pradesh Education Minister Botcha Satyanarayana, the implementation of the International Baccalaureate (IB) syllabus in 45,000 state schools will bring extensive benefits to numerous students. Its primary objective is to ensure that every student attains international educational standards, with a particular emphasis on supporting underprivileged students. In an effort to gain international recognition, both the IB and the AP government will jointly issue pass certificates to students. The entire project is budgeted at Rs 149 crore and is expected to achieve its goals within a five-year timeframe.
According to Minister Botcha Satyanarayana, the IB syllabus has already been introduced in select schools in Haryana, Maharashtra, Delhi, and other states. There is a proposal to establish IB labs across the state, ensuring simultaneous access for all schools. The investment in education will not only contribute to the development of human resources but also serve as a valuable asset for underprivileged students. Initiatives such as distributing tablets loaded with Byju’s content to eighth-grade students, introducing Test of English as a Foreign Language( TOEFL) training from class three at a nominal cost of Rs 7.50, implementing digital classrooms, interactive flat panels, and other measures will be of great benefit to the students of the state.
