A Wonderfully Hectic Week
Although most people dislike Mondays, it is my favourite day of the week. Mondays symbolise the beginning of the week, and leave lots of room for possibility and excitement. I started off this week with feelings of anticipation, excitement and a little bit of anxiousness. I had spent my entire weekend simultaneously practicing my ‘Telugu Weekly Test’ syllabus and working on my ‘Math Model’.
This Monday, I had my Telugu exam. Although I had prepared well, I couldn’t help but be worried about whether I had practiced enough and whether I would write the test well. Then, I had reminded myself of the hard-work I had put into practicing and tried my best whilst writing my assessment. When the results came, I was relieved to find out that I had done fairly well.
Throughout the rest of the week, I added the finishing touches to my model and displayed the mathematical reasoning on a poster. I had to even pull an ‘all-nighter’ once, but it was completely worth it as I had learnt the importance of my structure (The Leaning Tower of Pisa) and new maths concepts that I could connect to it! I submitted my model on Wednesday; feeling very proud.
On the same day, I had my French formative assessment. I didn’t prepare much for this as I had to work on my math model, and as a result I became worried about my results again. After talking to my teacher about my feelings, I was reassured that it would be easy, and felt more confident. I was ecstatic when I found out I had gotten one hundred percent!
Thursday happened to be the calmest day of the week for me. I was extremely grateful as this gave me the opportunity to not only catch up on my incompletes, but also worked on the grade eight ‘opera’ script, and most importantly; pack for my upcoming trek to Lonavla which I was very excited about!
I have to say that even though this week was more hectic than I had expected it to be, I’m glad it was frenzied as this allowed me to complete many of my pending assignments and tasks as well as improve my self-management and time-management skills immensely.
