A visit to Golconda fort

As we all know a student’s life should always be balanced with an equal opportunity for sports, extra-curriculars and education. They also need to have educational field trips to apply their knowledge and understandings of their classes to real life. This academic year in the month of November students of Silver Oaks had 3 educational field trips to the heritage sites of the Chowmahalla palace, Golconda Fort, Charminar and Purani haveli. These 4 locations are all culturally rich heritage sites that are of great significance and value to our city Hyderabad.

The acorns liked the field trip to Golconda fort and the following is their proceedings of the day. In the morning as soon as the acorns de-boarded their buses they assembled in the open auditorium and held their assembly there. The students were divided into 3 groups each going to one of the 3 destinations. They were sorted into 1 eighth and 1 seventh grade section into each bus. All the acorns enjoyed the bus ride by exchanging snacks, reading books and indulging in productive activities. As soon as they reached the spot, the students de-boarded their buses while forming a uniformed line to maintain decorum and discipline. When they walked in, they found themselves to be surrounded by architectural wonders with the best of strength and integrity. They made their way to two stone bricks with information about the Naagin -e-bagh, the garden residing in the inner fragments of  Golconda which translates to  “Jewel among the gardens “.There was also a map of Golconda along with a small article about the numerous office buildings there.

After viewing all of these sites students began their ascent from the stairs to Golconda fort’s  furthest point. At the furthest point lies a temple along with various architectural marvels and structures. It was a tiring ascent for the students but when they finally reached the furthest point, looking at the view was absolutely wondrous and everyone was awe-struck looking at the modern mash-up scenario of the city view that contained skyscrapers, the flora and the more than five century old architecture of the diverse dynasties that once ruled Golconda that is imbibed and encrpyted in the bricks and patterns of the Golconda. This spot provided an excellent view of Hyderabad. The high altitude combined with the city view provided an extremely spectacular memory. All in all, the visit to Golconda fort was a truly memorable experience for all the acorns
