The Craziest Week of my Life
Everyone has had at some point a week in their life that is considered to be a crazy week. Weeks filled with joy, stress and excitement is what we thrive off. The craziest week of my life occurred when I got selected for two interclass competitions consequently.
The intraclass “wordcraft” and “speaker@silveroaks” competitions were held on 5th and 12th of December. The topic provided for wordcraft was about our previous field trip – Golconda fort. Everyone wrote a wonderful description regarding the trip and gave more expression to their writing. My aim was to put down on the paper what I felt and what I saw in the best and simplest way.
A day later, our teacher gave us a topic to prepare and speak about “Sustainable cities and communities”. All the other students gave an exemplary speech. The matter they spoke was concise and interesting. As my turn was approaching, I felt sweet beads breaking out of my forehead. Although I prepared well, I couldn’t help feeling nervous. I started speaking and got so engrossed in my speech. After concluding the topic, I didn’t think I stood a chance of winning.
At the end of the hour, our teacher announced the results regarding both the competitions. It was such a shocking moment that my name led the list of the selected students for interclass competition! I was so overjoyed that my joy knew no bounds, I was so proud of myself to kill two birds with one stone.
Few moments later, a thought approached my mind to start preparing for the interclass competition so that I could perform so well and earn a good reputation. Today’s preparation determines tomorrow’s achievement.
