On the morning of May 1st, 2024, numerous schools in Delhi-NCR received bomb threats through email. As a precautionary step, the schools have commenced sending students back home. According to television reports, more than 50 schools have received threatening emails. Some of the prominent Schools that received these emails are Delhi Public School (Dwarka), Sanskriti School (Chanakya Puri), Mother Mary’s School (Mayur Vihar), among others.

According to DCP Central, Devesh Kumar Mahla, there is no need to panic as all schools have been checked, and nothing has been found. Dog squads from Delhi and Noida Police arrived at the locations to conduct comprehensive inspections. According to a Delhi Police spokesperson, upon initial investigation, it appears that the email was sent to numerous locations from yesterday until now, following a similar pattern. The email lacks a specific date and includes BCC, indicating it was sent to multiple recipients.

According to DCP South West Rohit Meena, the police received information about the same email being sent to multiple schools around 4.15 am. Immediate action was taken to close the schools and send students home. Currently, thorough checks are being conducted at all schools, and the technical team is investigating the email. Initial findings suggest it was a mass email. Students and parents are urged to stay calm and are assured that every school is being inspected with coordination from the school administration.
