The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has exercised its authority by revoking the registration of 26 schools in Bihar because they did not meet the board’s specified standards for educational facilities. This decision comes after continuous neglect despite repeated instructions from the CBSE’s monitoring body, which had been closely monitoring these institutions for several years.
Schools such as Patna Muslim High School, AVN English School, and Doon Public School, located in different districts of Bihar, were discovered to be levying excessive fees—annually, monthly, and during admissions—without providing adequate provisions and amenities for the students enrolled.
According to insiders despite repeated reminders to improve their facilities, these schools chose financial gains over meeting essential educational requirements. As a result, the CBSE took a firm decision to cancel their registrations. The CBSE’s website prominently displays a list of affected schools, which contains RD Public School in Hajipur, Takshila School in Muzaffarpur, Rise High Public School in Aurangabad, Arya Bal Shanti Niketan in Munger, Ramashray Roy Public School in Darbhanga, IQRA Academy in Darbhanga, and others.
The CBSE cauitioned parents not to enroll their children in these rejected institutions following the cancellation. However, around 7,000 students gearing up for imminent board examinations have been given special consideration to proceed with their exams. Nevertheless, any new registrations from these schools for the ongoing academic session will be considered invalid. The CBSE’s strong action serves as a warning to educational institutions, highlighting the critical importance of providing necessary standards for the well-being and benefit of students.
