The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has informed its affiliated schools to grant consent for hosting the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) exams scheduled for October-November 2024. CBSE-affiliated schools are required to log into the NIOS portal and provide their consent by July 31, 2024. According to the notification, this will support NIOS in conducting public examinations for candidates from the most disadvantaged groups in society and help CBSE comply with directives from the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The NIOS public examination for secondary and senior secondary courses is expected to begin in the first week of October 2024. The notification issued in this regard can be accessed HERE.
NIOS, operating under the Department of School Education, Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India, holds its public examinations twice annually in April-May and October-November. These exams encompass secondary (Class 10), senior secondary (Class 12), and various vocational courses.
