The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has introduced guidelines for implementing ’10 Bagless Days’ in schools, as recommended by the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Developed by NCERT, the initiative aims to make education more experiential, enjoyable, and stress-free by engaging students in hands-on activities like art, music, sports, and vocational crafts such as carpentry, gardening, and pottery.
The initiative encourages schools to move away from rote learning and focus on critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills. As part of this, schools can also organize field trips to historical sites, cultural landmarks, and tourist attractions, helping students connect with local artists and craftsmen.
The ’10 Bagless Days’ concept aligns with NEP 2020’s goal of holistic education, aiming to develop a love for learning and make school a more enjoyable experience. CBSE has urged schools to implement the guidelines to promote well-rounded, skill-based education.
