CBSE introduces Online Capacity Building Programmes for counsellors and teachers

by

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has launched a series of online Capacity Building Programmes (CBPs) for counsellors and teachers. These programs are in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which highlights the crucial role of comprehensive counselling in supporting students’ academic and personal growth.

The CBPs aim to improve educators’ knowledge and skills in key areas such as career counselling and psychosocial support. Through these programs, participants will learn to help students explore career options, set realistic goals, and plan for their future success.

The official notice stated that their expert resource persons will offer guidance and educational advice on relevant topics, acknowledging the crucial role of counselling in students’ overall development. This ensures participants acquire valuable insights and practical knowledge.

The board added that they urge all counsellors and teachers to seize this opportunity to enhance their professional skills in alignment with NEP 2020 guidelines.

The CBPs will be held online, with each session lasting 2 hours:

June 25: Career Assessment in Counselling

June 26: The Importance of Psychometric Assessments by School Counsellors

June 27: Identifying Talent and Goal Setting at a Young Age

Links to live sessions will be posted on the registration page 10 minutes before they begin. Principals, counsellors, and teachers will be able to directly interact with mentors and resource persons, ask questions, and share insights.

All school teachers interested in these topics are suggested to attend.

Participants must complete the entire session and fill out an assessment and feedback form, available on the registration page immediately after each session, to receive a certificate of participation. This form must be submitted on the same day as the session.

CBSE’s initiative demonstrates its dedication to enhancing educators’ professional development, ensuring they are fully prepared to support the holistic growth of students in accordance with NEP 2020.
