The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has opened a correction window for affiliated schools to update student details for the 2025 board exams. The window will remain open from April 9 to April 17, 2025.
Important Dates
- Correction window open: April 9, 2025
- Last date to apply: April 17, 2025
- Correction fee: Rs 1,000 per candidate (to be paid by schools)
What Can Be Corrected?
Schools can request changes in the following fields:
- Interchanging of mother’s and father’s names
- Student photo updates
- Date of birth (as per CBSE rules and valid proof)
- Gender correction
- Correction in “Single Child” status
- Minor spelling errors in parent names
This move comes after numerous schools reported errors in student data despite earlier guidelines to verify all entries before submission. CBSE clarified that no corrections will be accepted after April 17, and the data submitted during this window will be considered final for mark sheets and official results.
CBSE’s Reminder to Schools
CBSE has urged all schools to carefully cross-check student details against official school records like the Admission and Withdrawal Register to prevent discrepancies.
