Orientation Session for Principals/Heads of Institutions & Capacity Building Programs for Teachers on Augmented Reality/ Virtual Reality (AR-VR) and Digital Citizenship (Skill Module for Middle School)
CBSE introduced Augmented Reality – Virtual Reality (AR-VR) and Digital Citizenship as two new skill modules for classes VI-VIII during the academic year 2022-23. These subjects were introduced with the aim of exciting students on the possibilities of immersive technologies while educating them to become responsible digital citizens. The subjects cover important aspects for students like digital etiquette, cybersecurity, cyberbullying, information literacy, using the internet for social good, and the future of our digital world with topics such as AI, AR/VR, and the Metaverse with experiential and activity-based learning at the core of the pedagogy.
To help understand more and enable more schools to opt for these skills subjects, a virtual orientation session is being organized for Principals/Heads of the Institutions, and subsequently Capacity Building Sessions will be conducted every month for teachers of all CBSE-affiliated schools.

As part of the initiative to train students to become responsible digital citizens all schools are requested to take the “Digital Nagrik Pledge” at www.iamdigitalnagrik.com. This pledge is a reminder that the responsibility of making the digital world a space that is safe for all, lies with each and every one of us. Schools are encouraged to share the pledge with the students as well. More details about how schools can integrate this and report out activities will be shared during the orientation.
