The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) reaffirmed that Class 10 students who have studied Mathematics Standard (041) are eligible to continue with Mathematics (041) in Class 11.
The official notice by the board also mentioned that students who opted for Mathematics Basic (241) in Class 10 are permitted to take only Applied Mathematics in Class 11.
In the past, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the CBSE allowed students to take Mathematics (041) in classes 11 and 12, who took Mathematics Basic in Class 10. Recently, the board introduced some changes, the exemption will be extended for the 2024-25 academic year, enabling these students to also choose Mathematics (041) in Class 11.
The Board has also directed schools to ensure that students who wish to pursue Mathematics (041) in Class 11 demonstrate the necessary aptitude and ability. School heads must verify this before allowing students to proceed with this subject.
Furthermore, the official notice stated that for the students of Class X during the 2024-2025 academic sessions, once subjects are entered into the List of Subjects (LOC), no changes to the subjects chosen will be permitted. This policy will adhere strictly to the guidelines set forth on January 10, 2019.
Students are currently awaiting the results of the Class 10 and 12 exams conducted in 2023. According to a notice on the official website cbseresults.nic.in, the results are expected to be announced after May 20, 2024. However, there has been no official confirmation of the exact date and time for the results on cbse.gov.in. Once CBSE announces the result dates, the information will be updated on the page.
