CBSE Postpones Class 10 and 12 Board Exams Scheduled on March 5–6 in Middle East

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has postponed the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations that were scheduled to be held on March 5 and March 6, 2026, across several Middle East countries, citing a review of the prevailing situation in the region.

In an official circular issued on March 3, 2026, the Board said the decision followed a critical assessment of conditions in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. The move is in continuation of an earlier advisory released on March 1.

“After a critical review of the current situation in parts of the Middle East, the Board has decided to postpone the examinations scheduled for Thursday, March 5, 2026, and Friday, March 6, 2026,” the notification stated.

CBSE clarified that the revised dates for the postponed examinations will be announced later. The Board will reassess the situation on March 5, 2026, and take further decisions regarding the conduct of the remaining examinations based on evolving conditions.

Students appearing for the overseas board exams have been advised to stay in close touch with their respective schools and rely only on official CBSE communications for updates, while avoiding unverified information circulating online.

The postponement affects only select overseas examination centres and does not alter the board examination schedule within India.
