CBSE Recruitment 2026: Tier-1 marking pattern
The notification states that candidates will receive three marks for each correct answer. One mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer. Unattempted questions will carry no marks. Each question will have only one correct option. If a candidate selects more than one option, the answer will be treated as incorrect and one mark will be deducted.

Documents to carry to the examination centre

  • A printed copy of the admit card downloaded from the CBSE website
  • One passport-size photograph that matches the photograph uploaded in the form
  • An original, valid and unexpired photo identity proof such as PAN card, Driving Licence, Voter ID, Passport, Aadhaar (with photograph), E-Aadhaar (with photograph) or a ration card with photograph
  • PwBD applicants must carry their disability certificate issued by a competent medical officer
  • PwBD applicants seeking relaxation must carry the certificate for physical limitation for writing and the Letter of Undertaking if they wish to use their own scribe

Entry to the test centre will not be allowed without these documents.

The Board has stated that cut-off marks for OBC and EWS candidates will be five per cent lower than the cut-off fixed for the unreserved category in Tier-1 and Tier-2. For SC, ST and PwBD applicants, the cut-off will be ten per cent lower than the UR category.

If the number of eligible candidates is low in certain categories, CBSE may further reduce the cut-off for Tier-2, interviews or skill tests. However, no candidate scoring less than 30 per cent of the maximum marks in Tier-1 or Tier-2 will be considered for the final selection stage.
