CBSE Releases Circular on Rashtriya e-Pustakalaya to Promote Digital Reading Among Students

by Subeditor1

In a move to foster reading habits among children and adolescents, the Rashtriya e-Pustakalaya, the National Digital Library for Children and Adolescents, has been introduced. This initiative by the Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education, Government of India, aims to provide free access to a vast collection of high-quality books across various genres, languages, and educational levels.

Available on Android and iOS platforms, the digital library categorizes books into age groups (3-8, 8-11, 11-14, 14-18) and includes stories, biographies, classics, science fiction, and novels. It also supports the creation of digital readers’ clubs, interactive sessions, and progress monitoring.

To assist schools in integrating the app, orientation sessions will be conducted both online and in-person by the Rashtriya e-Pustakalaya Communications Team. Schools are encouraged to nominate a Nodal Officer to attend these sessions. The detailed CBSE circular in this regard can be accessed HERE.
