CBSE Budding Authors Programme is an extension of the CBSE Reading Mission which was launched in September 2021. The CBSE Budding Authors Programme aims to provide students a platform to engage in reading different types of stories and learning to write effectively. As students write and submit short stories under this programme, they would have an opportunity to express their creativity and get a chance to see them published.
Under the programme, students were asked to submit stories in Hindi and English. The submissions of students were accepted under three categories: category 1 for classes 5-6, category 2 for classes 7-8 and category 3 for classes 9-10. In the first phase of the programme, schools conducted the contest at their end. Schools evaluated the submissions and shortlisted two participants per category for the next round of the contest.
The second phase of the contest was conducted on a technology platform. Students were provided reading assignments and writing tips before they proceeded to write their stories on the technology platform. After submission on the platform, the stories were evaluated by a panel of experts. Shortlisted entries of each category were provided editorial support to finalise their creation.
