CBSE will soon organize counselling sessions for students of classes 10 and 12. As the board exams are nearing, we see a lot of stress among students. Every year the Central Board of Secondary Education helps students cope with exam stress through various measures. For example, sample question papers are made available to students so that they understand the exam pattern and requirements. The marks distribution is well projected on the organization’s website. Providing psychological support and solution to students is however, a different issue altogether.
Earlier counselling of students started in February. This year CBSE has taken a lead forward and started the process early hand, said an official. This is the first time after two years when the board exams will be conducted offline. Hence, the anxiety of students is quite palpable. During COVID, students got more accustomed to online classes and tests. As we approach the past system of offline education, we need to make our students emotionally and mentally resilient. CBSE will hold the counselling sessions with the help of IVRS. There is also going to be tele-counselling sessions complemented with podcasts. We are definitely becoming an inclusive society that prioritizes mental wellbeing of all. It is a change worth appreciating!
