by admin

In accordance to the National Education Policy, 2020; CBSE will soon be introducing subjects like Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Design Thinking, Holistic Health, Organic Living, Environmental Education, Global Citizenship Education (GCED) and many more in classrooms. These subjects have found a lot of relevance today. As we move towards an AI and data driven world, introduction of such subjects at an earlier stage in students’ learning journey will keep them at pace with the change. The initiative has been collaboratively taken by the Adolescent Peer Educators Leadership Program and CBSE.

The Central Board of Secondary Education intends to begin a Data Science course for classes 9 – 12. The course will be in the form of a 12-hour skill module for classes 8 and above. The central board has demanded schools to integrate 21st century skills in the curriculum and teaching methodology. A handbook has also been designed on the 21st century skills for teachers. CBSE has been organizing Adolescent Peer Educators Leadership Program to render essential life skills to students. It has also made efforts to reduce the curriculum load by revising the syllabus and decreasing the content as advised by NCERT.
