The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will launch its annual psycho-social counselling for Class 10 and 12 students on February 1. This initiative aims to provide emotional and psychological support during the examination period. CBSE offers this free service twice, once during the exams and again after the results are announced.
The first phase of counselling for the 2025 academic session will run until April 4. The initiative focuses on reducing exam stress and guiding students as they prepare for their theory exams, starting on February 15.
CBSE Psycho-Social Counselling Services – Key Points
- 24×7 Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS)
Students can access free support through the toll-free number 1800-11-8004. This IVRS service is available round-the-clock in Hindi and English. It offers guidance on exam preparation, stress management, time management, and answers to frequently asked questions (FAQs).
- Tele-Counselling Services
A team of 66 trained professionals, including principals, counsellors, special educators from CBSE-affiliated schools, and psychologists, will provide voluntary support. The service is available from Monday to Saturday, between 9:30 AM and 5:30 PM.
Among these professionals, 51 counsellors are based in India, while 15 counsellors from Nepal, Japan, Qatar, Oman, and the UAE will assist students.
- Podcasts and Audio-Visual Resources
Students can also benefit from bilingual podcasts and video content focused on stress management, exam preparation strategies, and mental well-being. These resources will be available on the CBSE official website – cbse.gov.in.
