CBSE won’t award any division, distinction in class 10 and 12 board exams

by

CBSE Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj stated that the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will refrain from conferring any division or distinction in class 10 and 12 board exams. According to him, no overall division, distinction, or aggregate of marks will be granted. Additionally, in cases where a candidate has undertaken more than five subjects, the decision to identify the best five subjects may be left to the discretion of the admitting institution or employer. Bhardwaj clarified that the Board does not compute, announce, or disclose the percentage of marks.

He mentioned that if the need arises for the percentage of marks or calculating them, in higher education or employment, it can be carried out by the admitting institution or employer.  CBSE  had already eliminated the practice of releasing merit lists to discourage unhealthy competition.
