The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a circular informing schools that the Ministry of Education, Government of India, will celebrate “Shiksha Saptah” from July 22-28, 2024, to mark the 4th anniversary of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. This week-long event aims to reflect on the transformative reforms introduced by NEP 2020 and to reinforce the commitment to advancing education nationwide.
Shiksha Saptah aims to develop collaboration and innovation among learners, educators, policymakers, and stakeholders, providing a platform to share best practices, discuss challenges, and plan future strategies aligned with NEP 2020. Each day of the week will focus on a specific theme, highlighting various aspects of education and development.
The themes for each day include:
- July 22: TLM (Teaching-Learning Material) Day
- July 23: FLN (Foundational Literacy and Numeracy) Day
- July 24: Sports Day
- July 25: Cultural Day
- July 26: Skilling and Digital Initiatives Day
- July 27: Eco Clubs for Mission LiFE/School Nutrition Day
- July 28: Community Involvement Day
Schools are encouraged to actively participate by organizing events and activities aligned with these themes. The Ministry has provided detailed guidelines and suggested activities to ensure a successful celebration. Schools are also advised to engage with local communities, School Management Committees, and Parent-Teacher Associations to enhance the impact of the celebration.
