CET Registration Opens for Admissions in Special Schools Across Gujarat
Ahmedabad: The Common Entrance Test (CET) registration has started for admissions into top educational institutions and scholarship programs in Gujarat. Students can apply until February 19, and the exam will take place on March 22.
CET scores will decide Class 6 admissions in Gyan Shakti Residential Schools, Gyan Shakti Tribal Residential Schools, Raksha Shakti Schools, Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS), and Sainik Schools. The test will also determine who qualifies for the Chief Minister’s Gyan Setu Merit Scholarship, which provides financial aid from Class 6 to 12.
Introduced in 2023-24, this system makes admissions easier for students from government and grant-in-aid schools. From 2025-26, tribal students who want to join EMRS and Sainik Schools under the Gujarat State Tribal Education Society must take CET, as individual entrance tests will be discontinued.
Students can apply if they have completed Class 1 to 5 in government or grant-in-aid schools.
