The Supreme Court, on reopening after the summer recess on July 8th, will hear the majority of the pleas concerning alleged irregularities in NEET UG 2024. Numerous students and coaching institutes have filed petitions challenging the NEET UG 2024 results. As per media reports, the NEET plea is scheduled to be heard by a bench consisting of CJI DY Chandrachud, Justices JB Pardiwala, and Manoj Misra.

These pleas encompass various allegations, including claims of paper leaks, demands for the cancellation and re-conduct of the entire NEET UG exam, and requests for an investigation into the National Testing Agency’s operations. Despite the upcoming hearing on July 8, the Supreme Court has declined to postpone the NEET UG counselling set to commence on July 6th.

On July 1st, NTA released the retest results for 813 candidates out of 1563 who took the exam on June 23. After re-evaluation, the top score decreased from 67 to 61, as six candidates awarded grace marks didn’t achieve a perfect 720/720. Nonetheless, they maintained high scores above 680.
