The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), the board that conducts the ICSE AND ISC exams, with the introduction of robotics and artificial intelligence, the board is geared up to sweep reforms. At the elementary level, subjects offered will also include AI and coding.
A holistic progress card will be issued as well, which analyses the student’s learning progress in achieving learning outcomes, with the inclining competency-based questions from 25% in 2025 to 50% in 2027, these changes will impact the board exams.
The curriculum will be aligned to NCERT’s National Curriculum Framework (NCF).
CISCE to also roll out a school improvement plan from next year for existing affiliated schools to achieve educational excellence in every school.
Joseph Emmanuel, CEO and secretary of CISCE, said this approach, integrating AI and robotics is set to boost holistic learning outcomes like creativity, innovation, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities in students.
These reforms by the CISCE aim to align the education system with the NEP 2020, fostering a more holistic based and student-centric approach towards learning and assessment altogether a new reform in the year 2025.
One of the important initiatives introduced was the three-stage digital assessment for Classes III, V, and VIII, starting from the 2025-26 academic session.
These changes are aimed at bringing CISCE’S academic and administrative functions with the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020), which will impact 30 lakh students across the school ecosystem.
