The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has announced revisions to the ISC syllabus for Classes 11 and 12, applicable for the 2025 and 2026 board examinations. Heads of affiliated schools have been instructed to inform students, teachers, parents, and guardians about the changes.
The updated syllabus and its detailed scope are available on the Council’s official website – cisce.org – under the ‘Library (Publications)’ section.
Subjects with Revised Syllabus
For ISC Class 12 (2025 exams):
Revisions have been made in the following subjects:
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Biology
- Mathematics
- Commerce
- Accounts
- History
- Geography
- Political Science
- Sociology
- Psychology
- Legal Studies
The syllabi for other subjects remain unchanged.
For ISC Class 11 (2024-25 academic session):

Important Notifications
CISCE has emphasized the importance of wide dissemination of the updated syllabus to ensure students and educators are well-informed and can prepare accordingly.
Meanwhile, the ICSE Class 10 exams concluded on March 27, and the ISC Class 12 exams ended on April 5, 2025. The results for both ICSE and ISC exams are expected in May 2025 and will be available exclusively on the official website – cisce.org. The results will not be available at the CISCE New Delhi office.
Exam Retake and Improvement Options
Students will be allowed to:

Take improvement exams for up to two subjects in the same academic year.

Compartment exams for Class 10 (ICSE) have been discontinued from the 2024 exam cycle.
Last year, CISCE declared the results for both ICSE (Class 10) and ISC (Class 12) exams on May 6, after concluding exams on March 28 and April 3, respectively.
