Class 1 pupils to get game-based module for 3 months to get school-ready

The Directorate of Education has developed a comprehensive plan with the goal of enabling children to learn while engaging in play. This initiative involves the creation of a package consisting of a game-based module, a play box for teachers, and a workbook for children to enhance their learning through practice. The package, named “VIDYARAMBH,” has been designed in collaboration with the State Council of Educational Research and Training Delhi, specifically targeting Class I students to ensure they are adequately prepared for school according to the guidelines outlined in NEP 2020.

The implementation of this interim program, known as the “School Preparedness Package,” is scheduled to take place from July 2023 to September 2023. In the previous academic year of 2022-2023, the package was also implemented, but this year it has been expanded to include three additional languages: Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu.

By employing appropriate teaching strategies and engaging activities, this package aims to foster the development of pre-literacy, cognitive, and social skills in children as they embark on their educational journey in Class I.
