Constable with Mumbai Police to fund education for 50 tribal kids


Constable Ali Rehana Shaikh who works with Mumbai Police’s Local Arms unit handed over financial resources to a school for tribal kids. Dyanai Secondary School located in Panvel’s Dhamani area thanked Shaikh for her contributions. Students have to walk 5-7 km in order to reach the school. Ravindra Thakur, administrator and head, confirmed the applauding performance of the schools in SSC exams. Majority of the students have passed with flying colours irrespective of their daily adversities.

“The school is not recognized by the state, but due to the strong will of the students to learn, it is doing well. So, I have decided to pay for their education and stationary expenses,” expressed Shaikh. Shaikh handed over Rs 17,000 to the school for running the expenses and reimbursing basic amenities of the students.
