The course is structured to allow teachers to complete it at their own pace, ensuring that it does not interfere with their daily school responsibilities. According to a circular issued by the education department, the initiative seeks to improve teachers’ awareness of child protection laws and help them contribute to a safer academic environment.

SCERT, which has been a key institution for educational research and training in Delhi, is leading the course. Known for its development of support materials and training modules, SCERT has produced over 200 educational publications aimed at qualitative improvement of school education.

Teachers are being urged to take full advantage of this opportunity. The training not only equips them with legal literacy but also positions them as the first line of defense in preventing and responding to cases of child abuse within school settings.

This re-launched program reflects the government’s continued commitment to prioritizing student safety and teacher empowerment in Delhi’s education system.
