Delhi & Haryana government extends schools summer vacation till July 8

On Sunday, June 30, 2019, the Haryana government has announced that the summer vacation for schools will be extended by a week due to the heat wave conditions prevailing in most parts of the state. On July 1, 2019, the schools were scheduled to reopen but the government has decided to open the schools from July 8, 2019, considering the scorching heat.

Haryana is awaiting the arrival of southwest monsoon and hence it is witnessing a dry spell. Over the last few days, the temperatures have remained between 40-43 degrees Celsius.

The Delhi government has also extended by a week the summer vacation in city schools for students till Class 8 because of hot weather conditions in the national capital. From July 8 the schools for up to classes VIII will reopen and for the higher classes, it will reopen from today as per the earlier schedule.
