In a heartfelt initiative aimed at reducing school dropout rates, the Delhi Police have launched a community outreach program titled ‘Nayi Disha – A Path Back to Learning’. The programme focuses on re-engaging children who have left school and guiding them back into the education system.

Under this initiative, police officers are personally visiting the homes of school dropouts to speak with both the children and their families. The goal is to understand the reasons behind their decision to leave school and to offer support and encouragement for re-enrolment.

“This is more than just policing — it’s about mentorship and community trust,” said DCP (East) Abhishek Dhania. “Our officers are building relationships with families, offering guidance, and helping children rediscover the importance of education.”

The program reflects the police department’s belief that every child deserves a second chance, regardless of past circumstances. By addressing the root causes behind school dropouts and fostering dialogue within communities, the initiative aims to create a supportive environment that prioritizes learning and personal growth.
