All Delhi government run schools and offices will remain closed on September 8,9 and 10 owing to the G20 Summit that will be held on these dates. Markets in close proximity will also remain shut during this time. The closure was announced Chief Secretary, Naresh Kumar sent a proposal to the honourable Chief Minister. On Kejriwal’s further approval, the same has been implemented. The Delhi Police had earlier urged the Chief Secretary to announce public holidays on the specific dates. Few metro stations like the Supreme Court and the Central Secretariat will be closed because of security reasons. Heavy vehicles, excluding the ones that will be involved in essential services will not be allowed in the capital city between September 8 to 10. The Delhi Police is making massive arrangements for the international summit. A comprehensive security and movement plan has also been established to keep everything in place. As India hosts the G20 Summit this year, 29 state heads, top EU officials, guest countries and 14 heads of international organizations will be attending the global conference. A chain of hotels have been reserved for all the incoming delegates.
