Delhi’s schools resumed their usual schedules from yesterday, due to improved weather conditions while bringing relief to both students and parents.

Responding to the cold winter temperatures, Delhi schools adjusted their schedule in January, following the directives of the Directorate of Education. Classes now commence at 9 am, with the intention of safeguarding students from the chilly weather. Additionally, the DoE has instructed schools not to conduct classes after 5 pm.

The Department of Education issued an order stating, considering the improved weather conditions in Delhi, all government, government-aided, and recognized private schools in Delhi would return to their regular schedules starting from Tuesday.

The instruction emphasized the significance of timely communication, mandating school leaders to promptly convey the schedule change to students, parents, and staff using effective communication methods. Previously, due to cold weather conditions, primary schools had their winter break extended by one week, beginning on January 6th and concluding on January 12th.

Delhi enjoyed a pleasantly mild Monday, with a minimum temperature of 11.9°C, surpassing the seasonal average by 3°C. The maximum temperature also exceeded the normal range, reaching 20.3°C, which is 2°C higher than anticipated.
