Delhi schools will soon incorporate elderly care, yoga, and self-help into their curriculum through a new course titled Science of Living. This initiative, introduced by the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), aims to teach students from kindergarten to class 10 various forms of meditation, mindfulness, and stretching exercises to promote well-being.
In addition to holistic education, the Delhi education department is developing new courses in Artificial Intelligence (AI) to equip students with the necessary skills for a tech-driven future. Officials have emphasized that as technology continues to evolve, upgrading students’ skills is critical to staying competitive in a digital world.
Furthermore, several existing educational schemes are being revised to enhance their impact. Among these is New Era of Entrepreneurial Ecosystem and Vision (NEV), which will introduce students to business-related activities and serve as a fresh alternative to the Business Blasters programme.
Additionally, a new programme called ‘Rashtraneeti’ will be introduced to provide students with practical knowledge of governance, democracy, active citizenship, and policymaking. This initiative aims to foster a deeper understanding of civic responsibilities and leadership among students.
With these updates, Delhi’s education system is embracing a well-rounded approach, integrating holistic well-being, technological advancements, and entrepreneurial skills to prepare students for the future.
