Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan highlighted on Thursday that PM Shri Schools have become a source of inspiration for rural children across the country. He made these remarks while speaking about the Prerana Programme, which was attended by students from various parts of the nation, including those from PM Shri Schools.
Union Minister Pradhan lauded the enthusiasm of students who participated in the Prerana program, noting their eagerness to share insights on their learning journey and personal growth. He further emphasised that PM Shri Schools have emerged as an inspiration for rural India’s youth.
The Ministry of Education has introduced a new experiential learning program, ‘Prerana,’ designed for students in grades 9 to 12. Aligned with the National Education Policy 2020, Prerana aims to provide students with a transformative experience that fosters leadership skills. The program, launched by the Department of School Education and Literacy, seeks to inspire and empower young minds.
The Government of India has initiated the PM SHRI Schools scheme, a centrally funded project aimed at transforming over 14,500 existing schools into model institutions. These schools, managed by various government entities, will provide a nurturing and stimulating environment where every student feels valued and has access to diverse learning opportunities. The scheme emphasizes the creation of safe, well-resourced schools to enhance the overall educational experience.
The program aims to cultivate students into active, productive members of society who can contribute to building a fair, diverse, and united nation, as outlined by the National Education Policy 2020.
Over 20 lakh students are anticipated to directly benefit from the scheme. The initiative will also deepen our understanding of various facets of quality education, informing future policies, practices, and implementation strategies. The learning from these model schools will be applied to improve education standards nationwide.
