Transforming children from being passive learners to active learners

The best way of learning is by doing. Do It Yourself Academy (DIYA) is testimony to the idiom. “We are specialists in internationally certified, industry-oriented hands-on robotics and coding education in alignment with learning outcomes proposed by NEP. We are passionate about partnering with education institutions with the vision of Making Children Future Ready, by integrating practical future-tech education as part of the curriculum to enable 21st century skill development,” says Udhay Shankar, founder of DIYA.

DIYA was founded by Udhay Shankar and Latika Rangaraj in 2013 with the vision of laying a strong foundation of 21st century skills in students through robotics and coding and a vision to reach out to 100 million+ students across 100+ countries, through a network of passionate educators.

Udhay specializes in product development, manufacturing, course plan preparation, teaching techniques and enabling teachers to deliver effectively. Latika is a highly process oriented professional focused on achieving customer Wow, by leading the operations, admin, HR, B2B partnerships, partner relations and quality delivery of promises made to the school in a timely manner.

Hands-on future-tech education is the combination of both worlds (tech skills and life skills) ensuring holistic transformation! Everyone knows that speed equals distance covered by time taken, but by finding out the rpm of a motor and calculating the circumference of wheel, the child is now able to decipher the time a robot would take to move across the classroom. “At DIYA we are passionate about adding wonder and magic to the learning curve of children,” says Latika.

As DIYA manufactures products and ensures experiential education in futuristic domains, educators from multiple domains collaborate to ensure holistic transformation. The sequential problem-based learning approach ensures that creators of tomorrow have a strong foundation.
