Adolescent counseling helps youth choose a career. It uses techniques like art therapy or talking therapy, to draw out the nature of a young person. The counselor is a remedial teacher, a special educator, an invigilator, and an advocate, apart from their therapeutic and assessment duties.
Don’t use judgmental words or threatening body language. Most adolescents change their career plans. Hence, academic education alone does not guarantee success in their professional life. Moreover, they need social skills such as self esteem, communication and decision-making skills.

A teacher can provide opportunities for students to interact through reading. To provide students with opportunities for interaction, teachers can create small groups of students to discuss their reading. They ought to structure groups carefully so that students with differing abilities are able to talk about a common topic. Teachers should understand their problems and should help in solving them. Today the problems and anxieties of adolescents are growing larger day by day. They cannot solve these problems without external help. Teachers should play the roles of a friend, a philosopher, and a guide to provide help to the adolescents.
