The Delhi Government’s Directorate of School Education has issued the yearly school schedule for the 2024-25 academic year, covering all government and government-aided schools in the capital city. The upcoming academic session is scheduled to commence on April 1, 2025. Following discussions regarding the admission process for the academic year 2024-25 on February 1st, 2024, the annual school calendar for Delhi in 2024-25 has been formulated. This calendar was prepared collaboratively on February 1st, 2024, involving deputy directors of education and representatives from the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).
School heads were directed to ensure the completion of 220 working days before scheduling holidays and academic sessions. Admission procedures for students in classes 6 to 9 will occur online in three distinct phases. The first phase will run from April 1st to April 8th, with a deadline of 5 pm. The second phase will take place from May 1st to May 20th, with the same deadline. Lastly, the third phase is scheduled from July 1st to July 20th, also ending at 5 pm.
Document submission or verification for admission to allotted schools for classes 6th to 9th will also be conducted in three phases: April 23rd to April 30th for the first phase, June 11th to June 25th for the second phase, and August 2nd to August 9th for the third phase.
Application forms for classes 10 to 12 will be available starting April 18, and the deadline for submitting filled-in forms is April 29. Admit cards will be distributed on May 6, and the Common Admission Test (CAT) will be held on May 9 from 10 am to 12 noon. Results of the CAT will be announced on May 14, and the deadline for the concerned Heads of Schools to submit files for approval and ID generation to the District Directorate of Education (DDE) will be on May 21.
According to the Delhi school holidays calendar for 2024, the summer vacation will span from May 11 to June 30, the autumn break will be from October 9 to 11, and the winter vacation will take place from January 1 to 15, 2025. Admission for Class 11 in Delhi schools, on the other hand, will start following the announcement of the Class 10 results for the academic year 2023-24.
