As a teacher, I have had the great opportunity to gain many valuable insights and experiences that have shaped me into the teacher I am today. Over my 10-year journey, I have come to understand that teaching is not just a profession; it is a journey driven by passion, a process of continuous improvement, and a daily opportunity for learning. The most important insight I have gained is the significance of inclusive learning and the importance of encouraging and supporting every student’s educational journey.
Every child is unique in their own way, possessing individual strengths, abilities, challenges, and diverse backgrounds. Cultivating value and respect for each child is the cornerstone of a creative classroom. Additionally, I have learned to handle and navigate various student situations by providing support and building strong relationships with them.
I started my journey as a Pre-Primary teacher, continuing for 5 years. Then, an opportunity knocked on my door to become a Primary Teacher. I went on to handle classes virtually and eventually became a coordinator. Now, I serve as the Technical Head of the Computer Department.
The Pandemic helped me to upgrade myself in different ways. It created interest in me to learn new things and subjects. It also helped me understand adaptability and flexibility.
Furthermore, I realized that teaching is not just about teaching but also a continuous journey of personal and professional growth. To improve oneself, one must be ready to face daily challenges and embrace opportunities. I started attending webinars and workshops on various topics and subjects, which helped me in various ways to upgrade my teaching levels. To be an effective teacher, you should be prepared to develop yourself both personally and professionally, by helping and guiding colleagues and staying updated.
The most rewarding aspect was the appreciation from stakeholders and management, as well as witnessing the growth and success of the students. Celebrating the students’ achievements makes me proud of the profession. Teaching is about more than just imparting knowledge; it’s also about empowering students.
To conclude, my journey as a teacher is marvelous, providing me with valuable insights and experiences. It has helped me understand the importance of creating a good environment both personally and professionally. It has made me stronger, smarter, happier, and “Tech Savvy”. Despite many challenges, my passion for being recognized as a Faculty is immeasurable.
